Let's Get Physical

I'm a gym freak who takes exercise seriously and who believes that we've got to take care of our health or else...
But the things I watch at the gyms I've been going to all my life are sometimes extraordinary.
Picking my life back from the wreck and chaos, I've resumed my usual visits to the gym to workout the stress and pain away and wash my brain clean. I also believe that when you tire your body, your mind is free to think. And, above all, I believe that if people go to the gym it is because they want to be fit, ladies most specially, because we girls always complain (most often excessively) about our bodies, how fat we are, how loaded with cellulitis and all those miseries.
Earlier this morning there I went. But when I got there I almost started laughing. One of the ladies, one with layers of cellulitis and I believe younger than me, was happily eating away a chocolate bar and saying she wanted to lose weight. There she was complaining that she couldn't lose weight no matter how hard she trained and that she really, really wanted to lose a few kilos. I think this is precious!
This is just an example in many. I also like the blokes that train like hell to become the next Mr. Muscle and don't drink a drop of water while they're pumping up because they want their bodies to dry out. I think this one is particularly hilarious (but not funny at all is what those guys ingest and do to have those bodies, that's not funny at all). And the people that don't run in the treadmills because that is a very tiring activity. Not to mention all the wrong posture that can ruin back and muscles.
I'm here stating things I see at the gym just to think that sports is so prone to individual apprehension. It's a subjective matter. It is also a sort of fashion. And something that is quite often most misinterpreted. In the middle of all this I worry. I worry about the things people do to their bodies. I worry because sports can be a very dangerous thing. What should be healthy causes more harm than good and people don't even care about it. It's frightening.
Maybe I'm really freaky...
