Definitely, I don't think Russia will ever adopt the democratic forms of our Western world. It's hopeless. Never was it the case that, no matter how remote the odds, Russia trailed the path of democracy.
Tsars, oligarchs, communists and now these pseudo-presidents. We're all very frustrated here, in the West of all virtues, with this electoral process in Russia. We criticise it and mock at it. It goes against our values and ways of thinking. However, this gets me thinking that we want to submit the world to a single ruling model: our democratic model. But, in the end, what still prevails is that saidian divide West/East even if we live in a post-Said era.
Us and the Others. And the Others will always be riven by difference. Who are we kidding?
